Welcome to Box Hill Jiu Jitsu where we train and teach the most effective martial art for self defence, fitness and wellbeing.
Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art that was developed and practiced by the Samurai dating back to the 1630s.  

Jiu Jitsu has evolved over time to become the most effective martial art with the widest range of techniques covering striking, throws, chokes and grappling. The modern art is built on the traditional techniques but adopted to suit the present day challenges.

The art promotes wellbeing, confidence, fitness and self defence making Jiu Jitsu an enjoyable, effective and popular martial art practiced by millions of people around the world. 

The beginning of your Jiu Jitsu journey has no prerequisites. We are there to help tailor it to suit your fitness level and needs. We look forward to welcoming you at our 'dojo' (our training venue in Box Hill).

1. Drop in at our dojo
It’s easy, just come in and introduce yourself to any of our members during a session. We will be delighted to speak with you. The  hardest thing you will do is taking the first step through the door! Our friendly members are there to answer any of your questions.

3. Give it a go

Join us for an introductory session. It's free. You will no doubt discover why we love training at Box Hill Jiu Jitsu! Be prepared though, you will want more!

All you need is long pants and a T-shirt. We have jackets and belts that you can borrow for the session.
